Sisters in the saddle: Cycle Festivals

January 22, 2015

There are cycle festivals popping up all over the country and they are a great way to enjoy not just a sociable ride but also to watch, buy and soak-up some cycle culture in a friendly environment – look out for events in Aberystwyth, Warminster, The Isle of Wight, The Chilterns and many others including:

The Edinburgh Festival of Cycling June 11-21 Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Festival of Cycling has been listed as one of the UK’s best cycling festivals with good reason. It was first run in 2013 and in June 2014, it offered over 80 individual events at 46 different venues, with people from around the world participating in it.

There are rides, forums, film showings and fun for all – watch the website for this years line-up.

L’Eroica June 19-21 Bakewell

If you are looking for something a little more vintage and with a lot of character then L’Eroica will be setting up it’s glorious 3 day festival camp once again in the beautiful lands of Bakewell in the Peak District National Park.

On Sunday 21st June 2015, there is a 3 route tour of the Peak District, but take note the 3,000 riders will all be using bikes built pre-1987.
