Ever felt like giving golf a go? The sport is to make its return to the Olympic programme in Rio 2016, so if you were looking for the perfect opportunity to pick up a club and sort out your swing, it’s now.

Golf: Get into the swing of things with Get into GolfAnd thanks to Get into Golf, a national campaign which aims to inspire adults to take up the game, it’s now even easier to get involved.

They’re launching a drive to attract women to the game, making the most of the current enthusiasm for the sport thanks to recent events on home soil such as the Ricoh Women’s British Open at Royal Liverpool and the Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

Currently only 14 per cent of golf club members are women and Get into Golf looks to highlight low-cost opportunities for women beginners and returners, together with the social and health benefits of golf, to change that stat.

Get into Golf opportunities include low-cost beginner courses with PGA professionals, with every attendee receiving a basic introduction to the game, together with information about club membership and follow-on coaching opportunities.

Golf combines exercise, sporting skill and social interaction making it a great sport for bringing people together – whatever their age, background or ability. Visit www.getintogolf.org for opportunities for women or call 0800 118 2766.
