Details: The Great Britain Women’s Fastpitch Softball Team will head to Canada to take on the might of world softball at the 13th Women’s World Championships.
Sixteen teams will take part in the biennial competition, run by the International Softball Federation. The World Championships are now the pinnacle event for women’s fastpitch softball since the sport was dropped from the Olympic programme for London 2012.
Great Britain qualified for the last two World Championships as one of the top three teams in Europe.
Favourites to win the competition are current World Champions USA and 2008 Olympic Champions Japan, Great Britain will be aiming to make it to the playoff rounds.
