Details: Why not get geared up for the Games and head to the Ladysmith Shopping Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, for a day of table tennis action?
The event, held between 10am – 4pm with repeats every hour, aims to show all aspects of table tennis, from beginners to advanced levels of excellence.
The day will be interspersed with matches and challenges as well as Chinese exhibition matches and beat the champ.
The showcase event takes place from 12pm - 1pm where girls from Fairfield High School, Droylsden, will be in action. They have an impressive record in sports with their achievements including:
Manchester Schools Champions
Greater Manchester Champions
North West Schools Champions
There will also be a ladies doubles fun match with ladies from local businesses taking part.
A challenge will be laid down for people to have the opportunity to beat the champ with a chance to get involved yourself.
Joe Beadle, Voluntary TT Development Officer, said: “We are hoping to make this an enjoyable day and promote the game of Table Tennis to the general public, particularly to the female population.”
