Details: The first ever Paralympics GB Sports Fest will take place at the beginning of next month.

Paralympics GB gold medallist Jonnie Peacock will be encouraging disabled people to sign up to the festival.

It will provide an opportunity for disabled people to try out different disability sports and explore how they can get involved.

There will be plenty of sports on offer including para-triathlon and para-canoeing which will feature on the Paralympic programme for the first time in Rio.

The Sports Fest is free and will offer come-and-try sessions or information stands for the vast majority of the 22 summer and three winter sports in the Paralympic Games.

There will also be the chance to meet the GB stars of the 2012 games, they will be there to inspire the next generation.

Jonnie Peacock said: “I am a walking example of how sport can change your life for the better.”

BPA Chief Executive Tim Hollingsworth said: “The festival is about building on the momentum of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

“We know that the performances of our athletes will have inspired many disabled people to take up sport.”

There will be two sessions, a morning session from 10am -3.30pm and an afternoon session from 5pm-8pm.
