Warning: NOT for the faint hearted!

Welcome to one of the toughest endurance races that the UK has to offer, the Exmoor 30:30 – a rugged endurance race covering 30 miles or 30 kms, whilst also carrying 30lbs on your back.

This event is aimed at those who are already (or can train to be) very physically fit and who really want to test themselves against both terrain and weather in a timed competition through ten manned checkpoints across Exmoor.

The competition is a team event divided into three classes; Open, Wounded or Insider. Within each class, prizes will be awarded according to course (30 mile or 30 km), gender (male, female, mixed), age (junior, peak, senior) and race format (solo or relay).

Solo teams comprise five individuals who undertake to complete the full 30 miles or 30 kilometres without substitution.  Relay teams can comprise any number of team members, subject to a minimum of five running at any time, who can be swapped over at any checkpoint.

So how do you reach an additional weight of 30lbs? Suggested items to be carried in each team member’s bergen include a sleeping bag, full change of dry clothes, one torch with new batteries, a fully charged mobile phone, a survival bag – to name but a few and its quite a challenge to actually pack all you need and not exceed the weight!

The Exmoor 30:30 begins at 4.00am on the Saturday morning, with the overall event finishing later the same day, following a free and well deserved evening meal that begins at 20:00.

Price: £50 (All team members should attempt to raise £500 for The Royal British Legion)
