Here’s a fitness challenge that’ll make 2014 one to remember; the 100km Challenge Series!
The Series, brought to you by Action Challenge, is a collection of four epic walks or runs held throughout the year that include distances from 25km through to 100km.
Each challenge offers a range of entry options for both teams or individuals, plus a selection of distances so there’s something for the seasoned pro right through to the first-time enthusiast to get involved with.
The events
London-Brighton Challenge
Date: 24-25 May 2014
Now in its third year, the London to Brighton Challenge covers 100km, beginning in Richmond-Upon-Thames and finishing as the sun rises in Brighton.
Walkers and runners will take to the South Downs and new for this year is a 56 km ‘half-way’ option for those wanting to take on only the first section of the challenge.

The Grand Union Challenge
Date: 28-29 June 2014
Brand new for 2014 this challenge takes you along the Grand Union Towpath - a hidden gem in the Capital’s scenery! Take on either the full 100km, one of two 50 km daytime options, a 50 km ‘Moonlight’ walk, or four 25 km events - there’s a challenge for everyone with this event!
Isle Of Wight Challenge
Date: 23 - 24 August 2024
You may have visited the famous festival here, you may have sailed around the Isle, but have you ever walk, jogged or ran it? If that takes your fancy then why not tackle the 100km coastal path, winding its way through areas of outstanding natural beauty, this event will push you to your limits but will leave you with an amazing sense of achievement!
Thames Path Challenge
Date: 13-14 September 2014
The popular Thames Path Challenge is back, this year with even more route options for runners and walkers. Beginning at Bishops Park by Putney Bridge, the trail follows England’s best known river throughout, with the Thames particularly mesmerising as the night falls.
Along with the full 100km challenge to Henley, there are also 50 and 25 km options available.
Please note that each event is split into a four stage course with major rest stops at every 25km, and check points at every 12.5km where drink and energy snacks, as well as meals are provided. All the events are very professionally organised with all routes being clearly signposted and including medical assistance.
