If you need to kick start your running regime for 2014 why not enter the Bupa Great Winter Run?

Details: Set in the beautiful surroundings of Holyrood park, Edinburgh this 5k run takes you around Arthur’s seat and is the perfect way to start the new year. The day starts as hundreds of youngsters part in the 2.5k Bupa Junior Great Winter Run offering something for all the family.

Runners are invited to stay after the event to watch some of the world’s best athletes tackle the Bupa Great Edinburgh XCountry. The event is televised live on BBC One and is free to spectate. There is a big screen in the park this year so you won’t miss a second of the action.

All runners will receive a long sleeved souvenir Bupa Great Winter Run t-shirt, medal, electronic timing chip, Finishers Pack as well as the excellent atmosphere and organisation you would expect at a Bupa Great run event. Locally sourced gourmet food will be available for runners to enjoy after working up an appetite earlier in the day.
