With the eagerly anticipated Superleague Grand Final this weekend between Celtic Dragons and Team Bath, the office here at Sportsister has gone a little netball crazy.
This weekends Netball Superleague final will see Team Bath take on Celtic dragons, after the Welsh side prevented Surrey Storm from making it to their 3rd consecutive Netball Superleague final as they fell to a 52-65 semi-final defeat in Cardiff.
Team Bath will today host Manchester Thunder in the Netball Superleague semi-final, in what promises to be one of the most exciting fixtures of the season.
Team Bath’s netballers will probably have to wait until this Friday’s last game of their Superleague Showdown league campaign to learn of their semi-final opponents.
Surrey Storm Netball defied the odds on Monday evening and defeated the Superleague’s second place side Celtic Dragons in Cardiff, trouncing their opponents 46-76.
After a tough match against the Celtic Dragons on Monday, Team Bath maintains their 100 per cent record in the Netball Superleague Showdown.
Celtic Dragons have continued their fantastic form with an emphatic away defeat against Surrey Storm. Elsewhere Bath take on Mavericks and Thunder dominate in the Challenger league.
Round Eight of the Netball Superleague showcased some fantastic games as each team came out fighting for a coveted place in the Grand Final weekend this May. Manchester Thunder began their second phase campaign with a convincing victory over Yorkshire Jets.
The England senior squad have have continued their recent winning streak with a 3-0 win against Jamaica in their test series in Kingston this month.
The Netball Superleague 2013 is well underway, and with the second phase about to begin, now is the perfect time to catch up on the race to the final.
