London 2012: GB team welcomed to Paralympic Village

Britain’s 300-strong Paralympic team were officially welcomed into the athletes’ Village last night, with a colourful ceremony witnessed by Games volunteers, officials and politicians, on the day before the Games are declared open.

We’ve all heard of the phrase ‘see your name in lights’, but this is something else! ParalympicsGB athlete Shelly Woods is literally lighting up Heathrow, with British Airways welcoming international Paralympic athletes with a series of giant images projected on to the airline’s engineering hangars.
