Hertfordshire Mavericks are top of the FIAT Netball Superleague; a blistering first quarter (20-9) set the side up for a 55-38 win over Loughborough Lightning 55-38 at the University of Hertfordshire.
A brisk start by the Hertfordshire Mavericks saw them storm into a five goal lead against a mis-firing Surrey. The home side just couldn’t get possession and after taking the ball seemingly at will Mavericks delivered it to their shooters – Louisa Brownfield and Monique Wood were only too happy to pop it in the net.
Hertfordshire Mavericks doubled their points tally with a FIAT Netball Superleague 3rd Round win at Loughborough Lightning in a game both teams will be able to use as a learning tool. It was a good game for fans of defensive netball.
Coach Maggie Jackson is genuinely puzzled at times, about why her Hertfordshire Mavericks side can be slow to fire up in their FIAT Netball Superleague games. They’re not known for their fast finishing for nothing.
