The Etape Caledonia has a reputation for hills. Starting and finishing in Pitlochry, Perthshire, the course offers 81 miles of closed Scottish roads and over 2,000 meters of climb. There’s no doubt it’s a big day out but with completion times ranging between 3½ and 7 hours this event is for elites and enthusiasts alike. (more…)

With just weeks to go now until the Etape I am tired and slightly suspicious that I may have been overtraining a bit recently. Intentions of relaxing a bit are rather suddenly enforced after I accidentally take up flying following my close encounter with a pot hole…

The weeks are ticking by as 16th May gets ever closer. This week sees me trying to master the elusive art of NOT overdoing it and giving my ITB band the shock of its life in some extreme yoga, another 80 mile trip around Surrey and my mum outdoing me with an amazing marathon effort.
