Aiming to do for triathlon, what LZR Racer did for swimming, Speedo has launched its LZR Racer Tri-Pro suit.
The facts are pretty impressive: this suit is 42% lighter than the nearest competitor suit when wet, and nearly 26% lighter when dry. It also dries nearly twice as fast.
That alone will make it a very appealing option for all triathletes. The Pro suit is aimed at serious amateurs, who are looking for a high performance suit that strikes that fine balance between speed and comfort.
The triple functionality of the suit provides wearers with a breathable resistant barrier, whilst a zone of wickable fabric on the back of the suit provides added ventilation and thermoregulation.

The LZR pulse fabric gives you a highly compressive leg fit to help minimise muscle oscillation and the build up of lactic acid in the muscles.
Speedo’s swim heritage shines though when you try the suit in the pool and see the revolutionary hydrophonic fabric in action - the water literally falls from, leaving the suit, and you, light and dry.
On the bike the gender specific inner padding means a comfy fit for women and offers enough padding to keep you comfortable in the saddle without hindering your run or swim stages. Plus there is built in inner bust support; however I would recommend all but the smallest busted women to still wear a sports bra underneath.
In addition to the one piece suit, Speedo is also launching a top and shorts set for those who prefer a two piece as well as a host of swimming accessories including some tri specific goggles which offer both great comfort and visibility.
An entry level suit will also be launched by Speedo next year targeted at those who prefer more a little more cushioning and a lower price tag.
The suits will go on sale at speedo.com in September and you can register your interest at speedo.com/triathlon to be kept up to date on the range.
