Jodie Stimpson’s triathlon diary - day 3
Triathlete Jodie Stimspon kept a training diary in the run up to the Nokia Windsor Triathlon, where she took gold and smashed the course record in the process. Throughout this week she shares it with Sportsister - read on for part 3.
Wednesday 10th June 2009
With having a really hard run session yesterday it was key to make sure I recovered well as I needed to start to freshen up for the Nokia Windsor Triathlon. I did the swim session an hour later then usual to sleep more so I started at 6.00am and did a 90min swim and then back home for breakfast.
The days leading up to the race I have to make sure I’m not only resting my body but that I’m also feeding it the right nutrition for it to recover. After breakfast the T.V was on and I spent most the morning stretching and then I took my bike down to Brotherton Cycles for the pre race check.
Brotherton Cycles is my local bike shop who sponsors me and Paul who owns the shops plays a huge part in my team and always gets the my bike race ready for me for the next day which I am very grateful for.
Food Diary
Breakfast: Before swimmming - Appple and a banana
Breakfast: After training - Porridge with cinnamon & ½ Galia melon
Snack - Mixed berries of blueberries, strawberries and raspberries with a yoghurt
Lunch - Prawn and salad
Tea - Salmon with vegetables and new potatoes with a yoghurt for pudding
