Day one at the 2010 Rowing World Championships on Lake Karapiro, New Zealand, was cut short thanks to high winds. The event started on Sunday but racing was abandoned after race six. Sophie Hosking and Hester Goodsell, in the lightweight women’s double scull, were the only GB crew to book safe package to Wednesday’s semi-finals with a heat win in 7:02.12. (more…)

Sunday saw the culmination of the 2010 Futures Cup in a day of excellent hockey and heart-stopping excitement. The competition offered youngsters the chance to showcase their talents and for spectators to see what’s in store for the future of England hockey. (more…)

The high standard of hockey continued at Cannock on day three of the Futures Cup. There was the culmination of the U18 boys and girls group stages ahead of Sunday’s final classification matches and in the U16 tournaments, which are run in round robin format, there is one round of matches remaining. Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork are through to the last eight of the mixed doubles at the Denmark Open. The English National Champions and sixth seeds took just 34 minutes to defeat Mads Pieler Kolding and Julie Houmann of Denmark. (more…)
