Softball: GB’s Women’s team fly to World Championships for first time

In December 2009, Sportsister ran a news story encouraging readers to vote to get Great Britain Women’s Fastpitch Softball team to the World Championships in North America. We are pleased to report that the team have won the funding, and will be flying out to Venezuela this month. (more…)

Athletics: Ohuruogu and McConnell square off at Super 8

Christine Ohuruogu and Lee McConnell will be neck and neck over the 200m sprint at the Super 8 in Glasgow’s Scotstoun Stadium on July 7. Ohuruogu’s season best time of 23.52 might not be enough to fend off McConnell, who has a season best of 23.60 and her hometown crowd cheering her to the finish line. (more…)

Water Polo: Mixed results for British team in Fina World League

Cricket: England women maintain momentum

England women continued their preparations for the NatWest Series against New Zealand with two Twenty20 victories against male opponents at Denstone College on Saturday June 12. England beat Denstone College first IX boys by 16 runs, and Staffordshire U17 boys by 14 runs. (more…)
