Priscah Jeptoo led a Kenyan one-two to add the women’s 2013 Virgin London Marathon crown to the Olympic silver medal she won on the same streets last summer. Jeptoo overtook the world champion Edna Kiplagat, and Yukiko Akaba claimed Japan’s first podium place.
