    Follow me as I attempt to take on a different challenge every month for the next year from cycling, running, swimming to dancing, abseiling challenges….with as much variety as possible! I’m taking part in these challenges in the memory of my father who inspired and made me the sport fanatic I am; and raising money for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association in his honour. Follow my journey through the highs and lows of my training, reviews of the events I partake in, and be part of what I am sure will prove to be a tough, yet exciting and fulfilling year!

    Last weekend, I faced my fears and took on my sixth challenge; the Stroke Association’s High Voltage Abseilevent, and marked the half way pointof my year of ultimate challenges!

    October’s Challenge: The London Spartan Sprint

    For my next challenge, I shall be leaving the mean streets of London, to take on another adventure racing course, however this time – rural style! I shall be revealing my inner warrior and taking part in the Spartan Sprint in the meaner hills of the Surrey countryside.

    Last weekend, myself and two team mates took part in the London Urban Rat Race Adventure. The weather was perfect, nice and sunny but not too warm, as we arrived at the start in Potter’s Field, next to Tower Bridge.

    Challenge three completed! Nine to go…

    At the weekend, I took to the water (and the rain) to take part in my third challenge – The WWF Blue Mile. The Blue Mile offered multiple water sport options including swimming, kayaking and SUP (stand up paddle boarding), with the more adventurous taking on all three in the ‘triple challenge’.

    The best kind of active recovery!

    Completing my first ever half marathon, with an inadequate amount of training, left me walking like a penguin with pretty sore hips, quads, hamstrings and calves. You name it, if it’s a tendon, ligament, joint or muscle in my legs – it was sore.
