Athletics: GB and NI win 38 medals at IPC Athletics World Championships

In a hugely successful IPC Athletics World Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand, the Aviva Great Britain and Northern Ireland team won a total of 38 medals – including one World Record – to surpass the previous totals in Assen 2006 and Lille 2002 and finish third equal (based on gold medals) in the medal table.

British Cycling has today announced the 27 British riders who will be competing in the final round of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics, taking place on the 18 – 20 February at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester.

Bristol’s finest Jenny Jones, almost made it 3 consecutive gold medals at the X-Games in her first major comp since recovering from her bust ankle, but she came 2nd to rookie Enni Rukajarvi in the womens slopestyle at the X-Games 15.

Sailing: Medal glory for Brits on penultimate day in Miami

Britain’s sailors claimed their first medals of the Miami World Cup regatta on Friday, with gold going to the Sonar trio of John Robertson, Hannah Stodel and Steve Thomas, and bronze to SKUD duo Alexandra Rickham and Niki Birrell, as the Paralympic classes wrapped up their race series.
