Football: BBC month of women’s football
The BBC is bringing a month of women’s football to fans this March, with four live England matches and the start of the new Women’s Football Show, bringing the Match of the Day treatment to the Women’s Super League.
England’s Lionesses kick off on Thursday with the SheBelieves Cup as they face World Cup winners USA in the opening game of the tournament, live on BBC One at 12:30am (Thursday 4th March).
Mark Sampson’s side will then face top FIFA top ranked teams in Germany (Sunday 6th March, 10:45pm) and France (Wednesday 9th March, 10pm) in their remaining group games with live coverage on BBC One and the Red Button. The Lionesses will be back in Euro 2017 qualifying action when they take on Belgium on Friday 8th April at 7.55pm.
Regular women’s football highlights programme, Women’s Football Show begins again on BBC Two on Thursday 24th March, bringing extra highlights and analysis from all the action in the Women’s Super League.
Jacqui Oatley and Tina Daheley will lead presentation duties, backed by an impressive team of pundits including former England goalkeeper, Rachel Brown-Finnis, Arsenal’s Rachel Yankey, Kelly Smith and Sue Smith. Match of the Day favourite Jonathan Pearce leads commentary duties alongside Steve Bower and Nigel Adderley.
