What’s on: January-March 2016
Here’s our pick of what to watch/go to/support in the first three months of 2016. It’s Olympic year so the stakes are high and there are lots of great events being hosted in the build-up.

the season starts with France V Italy at Stade de France, Scotland V England at Murray field and Ireland V Wales at the Aviva Stadium.

Cricket.Three-match ODI series and three- match T20I series, Benoni, Centurion, Johannesburg, Paarl, Cape Town, South Africa. All three ODIs are ICC Women’s Championship fixtures, which count towards qualification for the 2017 World Cup.

Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships, Innsbruck, Austria
Look out for Laura Deas in the Skeleton, she made a great start to the season by winning the opening World Cup of the season.

World Short-Track Speed Skating Championships, Seoul, Republic of Korea. Look out for Elise Christie and Charlotte Gilmartin who have both medaled in World Cup events this season.

World Cup Gymnastics Emirates Arena, Glasgow
Sold out in 2013 and 2014, the Glasgow World Cup is one of the most prestigious events in the gymnastics calendar and sees the world’s best male and female gymnasts take to the stage.

IAAF World Indoor Athletics Championships Portland, Oregon, USA
With politics raging in the Athletics world and Rio 2016 looming, this should be an interesting event all-round.
