The culmination of a thrilling racing season, the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships will see the world’s best track cyclists compete for the coveted world champion rainbow jerseys and the chance to head to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games at the top of the sport.

British Cycling will look to its own top performing athletes ahead of naming a team for the event, with Olympic champions Joanna Rowsell Shand and Laura Trott all hoping to claim rainbow jerseys.

Great Britain Cycling Team’s Katie Archibald is hopeful of making the cut to compete at the same venue that saw British riders claim an incredible nine Olympic medals in 2012. “I’ve heard so much from the team about their experience at the UCI Track Cycling World Cup, as well as the Olympics in London – to be selected for the UCI Track Cycling World Championships riding there would be a dream.

“We lost the team pursuit world title and world record to Australia last year, so there is definitely a hunger to get to Lee Valley VeloPark and take back that place on the winner’s podium.”

No fewer than three world titles will be contested on each day of the competition, with ticket-holders set to witness thrilling men’s and women’s team sprints, pursuits and individual titles contested.

With over 43,500 tickets sold and six sell-out sessions announced, fans are being urged to book now to experience the thrilling live event at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park venue.

Tickets for remaining sessions of the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships are available via Ticketmaster. For further event information visit www.trackcyclingworlds2016.london
