London Sports Writing Festival - Women In Sport panel

The London Sports Writing Festival takes place at Lords Cricket Ground 12-15 November and aims to promote all aspects of sports writing from bestselling celebrity autobiographies to long-form narrative writing.

Of particular interest to Sportsister readers is the Women in Sport session on Saturday 14th. Only 10% of British sports journalists are women and this panel featuring some of the UK’s leading sports professionals will look at how we can set about improving this absurd inequality.

So, if you are looking for your first break as a sports writer, or you’re already in the business and want to share experiences and engage with the panel, this networking event is for you. On hand will be Anna Kessel (The Guardian), Lizzy Ammon (@legsidelizzy), Sarah Shephard (Features Editor, Sport Magazine) and Charlotte Atyeo (Publisher, Wisden) all of whom will guarantee you 90 minutes of lively debate, plenty of humour, and a ton of useful advice on how to break into the business and reach the top. Whether you’ve got a book in the works or you’re studying sports writing, this is event will be both useful and entertaining.
