England Hockey secure a confidence hosting win over Japan, Vicky Holland takes a surprise World Triathlon series win, Tonia Couch wins two bronze medals and Paula Radcliffe reduces us to tears.

Hockey: Great Britain secure a 2-1 victory over Japan
Alex Danson scored twice to help secure Great Britain’s 2-1 victory over Japan at the Olympic Park in Stratford. The Cherry Blossoms (Japan) took a first-half lead through Yukari Yamamoto before GB retaliated in the second half.

The match was seen as an important warm-up before the Olympic qualifying event in June, when GB will travel to Spain to play in the World League for a place at the Rio 2016 Games. Full story via the BBC

Diving: Double bronze for Tonia Couch
Tonia Couch marked the final day of action in Kazan by securing her second bronze medal of the Diving World Series event.

Couch, who finished third alongside Sarah Barrow in the 10m synchro on Friday, doubled up on Sunday by taking her place on the podium in the women’s 10m platform. Full story Via TeamGB

Triathlon: Vicky Holland wins her first World Triathlon Series event
Vicky Holland stormed to her first-ever World Triathlon Series victory in Cape Town - and admitted she was shocked.

Commonwealth bronze medallist Holland, on her return from injury, came home ahead of American Katie Zaferes and Olympic champion Nicola Spirig while British team-mates Helen Jenkins and Emma Pallant both secured top ten finishes.

Athletics: ‘Come on Paula’: Radcliffe’s London Marathon is final competitive race
With an honour guard of club runners and crowds chanting her name, the women’s world-record holder enjoys her slowest-ever marathon (which let’s face it is pretty fast!). Full story via The Guardian

Football: BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year nominations revealed
BBC World Service has revealed the five names in contention for its inaugural Women’s Footballer of the Year award.

Spain’s Veronica Boquete, Germany’s Nadine Kessler and Scotland’s Kim Little are joined by Brazilian forward Marta and Liverpool and Nigerian youngster Asisat Oshoala. Find out more via BBC

Baku European games: What are they?
On 12 June, the curtain will raise on the first European Games in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku. Great Britain will send its largest overseas contingent since the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
