Women in Mountain Adventure Film Competition
Natasha Brooks has won first prize and People’s Choice Award in the Women in Mountain Adventure Film Competition organised by WomenClimb, the British Mountaineering council and the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival. The film is a beautiful exploration of her life long love of wild swimming in the lakes of Snowdonia.
14 films were entered for this year’s inaugural film competition across a range of different mountain and climbing activities, proving that women of all ages are getting out and enjoying adventure in many different ways.
In second place was Fran, by Jen Crook which tells the story of a climber (Fran) finding her way back into climbing after an accident left her paralysed.
Third place was Scaling the Whale (below) by Shyla Lee, in which narrator and film maker Lee shares her need to escape from a busy career and urban life by heading to the hills.
