Cricket: Charity auction of players drawings

September 7, 2024

Charlotte Edwards and the rest of the England women’s team have penned portraits of each other to support the Cricket United appeal - a joint fundraising appeal by the Lord’s Taverners, Chance to Shine and the PCA Benevolent Fund which aims to improve lives through cricket.

The England players’ drawings are being auctioned off on eBay and fans can bid for them by clicking here

All-rounder, Jenny Gunn, was a popular target, being drawn by Danielle Hazell, Lydia Greenway and Sonia Odedra. They all took the opportunity to pen the Nottinghamshire cricketer by making reference to her famous long-levers.

Lydia Greenway also didn’t escape, with Nat Sciver sketching her as superwoman in reference to her fielding skills.

England captain, Charlotte Edwards, took the opportunity to draw opening bowler Anya Shrubsole. England ‘Keeper, Sarah Taylor, penned a portrait of opening bowler Kate Cross who, in turn, drew Lauren Winfield.

Talking about the drawings England Women’s captain, Charlotte Edwards, said,

“It was a lot of fun to take part in. I know the vital work that all three charities do and we are delighted to be able to help. I’m just glad that no one drew me!”
