Cycling: Emma Pooley wins National Road Championships Time Trial

Emma Pooley won her third British Time Trial title at the Celtic Manor in Newport yesterday.
2008 Olympic silver medallist Pooley won in a time of 30 minutes and 18 seconds, ahead of Katie Archibald who was second, with Dame Sarah Storey third, Elinor Barker fourth, Laura Trott fifth and defending champion Joanna Roswell sixth.
“It is pretty special to win this,” said 31-year-old Pooley.
“I was pleased with the way I rode because I was pretty tired at the end, and that is how you should feel.”
Pooley will now race in the road race on Sunday where Lizzie Armitstead is the defending champion.
