Canoeing: Fiona Pennie suffers two penalties in European Senior Slalom Championships

Great Britain’s Fiona Pennie was left to rue two time penalties as she lost her K1 women’s title on the final day of the European Senior Canoe Slalom Championships in Vienna this weekend.
The 31 year old had posted the fastest time but two one-second penalties saw her finish fifth with a time of 97.52 seconds – 1.41secs behind Germany’s Ricarda Funk who claimed gold.
Elsewhere, GB’s Beth Latham finished seventh after also receiving two penalties.
