Athletics: Lynsey Sharp qualifies for the Commonwealth Games

Scotland’s Lynsey Sharp has secured her place at the Commonwealth Games after winning the 800m at the Grand Prix City Lokeren.

The 23-year-old’s time of 2:02.42 was under the qualifying mark, and was two seconds faster than runner-up Mathias Charline of Luxembourg.

Sharp is the current 800m European Champion and afterwards she tweeted: ”I DID IT!!!!!! SEE YOU ALL IN GLASGOW.”
