10,000 Women Own The Night with Nike’s 10k run

10,000 women came together on the weekend for a Saturday night out with a difference!
Taking part in Nike’s We Own The Night 10k run in East London, runners experienced a 10k like no other with live music and light tunnels lining the route.
Lead by marathon world record holder Paula Radcliffe and Elle Magazine Editor in Chief Lorraine Candy, groups of friends, families and colleagues joined together to complete the 10k run in Victoria Park.
Paula Radcliffe commented: ‘The atmosphere was fantastic, there was so much positivity with all the women encouraging each other every step of the way. To see so many thousands of young women pushing themselves after weeks of training is something to be truly celebrated!”
The celebrations carried on well after the final runner crossed the finishing line, with an after party led by Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, runners celebrated with a glass of bubbly and their very own bespoke Alex Monroe finisher necklace.
Lorraine Candy added: ‘Well that was just amazing, a 10k has never felt so short! Running alongside Paula Radcliffe, Holly Fulton and the thousands of ELLE readers really spurs you on. Everyone was in it together and we definitely owned the night!’
This year Nike will donate £4 from each We Own the Night entry to Women Win in support of programs that help get young people more active in each WOTN city.
Congratulations to all who took part!
