Football: England beat Ukraine 4-0 in World Cup qualifier

England are at the top of their qualifying group and make it six wins from six after beating Ukraine 4-0 in Shrewsbury.
Despite the final scoreline, the first 40 minutes of this important match was tight until Natasha Dowie’s precise header gave the hosts a narrow half-time lead.
England then found their form with Eniola Aluko taking it to 2-0 just four minutes ahead of Natasha Dowie’s second goal took them to 3-0. A fine second goal from Aluko rounded off the win to make it 4-0.
The result, combined with closest challengers Wales’s 4-0 win over Montenegro earlier in the day, means manager England remain five points clear at the top of Group Six, and are on course to reach the 2015 finals in Canada.
Mark Sampson, England Manager told the BBC: “We have some tough away games now which will be a different challenge for us, but we are where we want to be and we showed tonight that we have strength in depth.”
