Triathlon: Stimpson and Jenkins finish top in second World Series round

Jodie Stimpson finished just ahead of fellow Brit Helen Jenkins to win the second round of the ITU Triathlon World Series this weekend.
The round, held in Cape Town, South Africa, saw Stimpson, 25, take her second World Series win out of two rounds this season. She had previously triumphed in Auckland, New Zealand.
Stimpson took second place overall in last year’s World Series, missing out on the title to Wales’ Non Stanford.
Jenkins,30, also of Wales, continued to build her comeback to international competition this weekend. She took third in Auckland in her first event since London 2012. American Gwen Jorgensen finished third in Cape Town.
Stimpson acknowledged the hard work and strength of her fellow British triathletes. ‘The British girls were pushing hard on the bike today. They were definitely strong out there,’ she told the BBC.
