Reebok Human Delta + Spartan workout
On 22 April London fitness fanatics came together to launch Reebok’s new brand mark – the Reebok Delta symbol. Hundreds of fitness enthusiasts took part in simultaneous CrossFit®, BODYCOMBAT™ and Spartan Race workouts, creating a living, breathing and sweating, physical manifestation of the new Reebok brand mark.
I chose to try-out the Spartan Race workout, and as our bearded instructor with megaphone approached us carrying a heavy sandbag, I feared I may have made a mistake.
Spartan Race Workout
After a rigorous warm-up, the three different workouts began and my inner-Spartan came out with a passion! The workout consisted of high-intensity cardio mixed with weight training and body-weight training – everything you need to equip you to take part in one of Reebok’s Spartan Races.
The Reebok Spartan Races integrate obstacles with natural terrain to create a unique and intense racing experience. They are not for the faint-hearted – if you can’t get over an obstacle you have to drop and complete 30 burpees! Each course is unique, so you never complete the same race twice… that’s if you even get through it the first time of course. Try the 5K Sprint, the 13K Super or the 20K Beast if you’re really feeling like a true Spartan warrior.
Kitted out head-to-toe in Reebok gear I really felt the part – my Reebok All Terrain trainers were specifically designed for the Spartan race and they were incredibly comfortable and had fantastic grip, which was lucky as we had to scramble all over during our workout.
Reebok Delta
As we worked out in the iconic shadow of Marble Arch in central London, the hundreds of fitness lovers formed the shape of a Human Delta from above. Reebok claim that the Delta is a symbol of change. Reebok’s new brand mark symbolizes their mission to help people change for the better and be the best version of themselves through fitness.
And seeing how much fun everyone was having I couldn’t help but agree with them. As I heaved a sandbag onto my back and performed a set of jump-squats whilst chanting Spartan mantras at the top of my lungs, I certainly felt like the best version of myself.
