Cricket: England lose World Twenty20 Final to Australia

England suffered a disappointing six wicket defeat to old rivals Australia in the World Twenty20 final on Sunday.
England were looking good at 55-1, however they collapsed to post a modest 105-8 total which Australia chased down with ease.
Heather Knight was England’s highest scorer with Heather Knight’s 29 as Sarah Coyte took 3-16 and Ellyse Perry 2-13.
Australian captain Meg Lanning hit 44 off 30 balls to guide Australia to a comprehensive victory with 29 balls to spare.
“We were completely outplayed,” said England captain Charlotte Edwards.
“We weren’t good enough - 105 was never going to be good enough in a World Cup final.”
One consolation for England was Anya Shrubsole being named player of the tournament following her impressive bowling.
