Netball: Zeo Superleague Round 11 Round-Up

Round 11 of the Zeo Superleague continued this season’s tradition of drama and nerve-jangling results, with two one-goal victories, and a draw this weekend.
Table-toppers Surrey Storm just hung onto their unbeaten record with a 63-62 victory over Celtic Dragons.
In a fiery and competitive affair, Storm led 31-28 at half time. Celtic Dragons, known for their fighting spirit and determined comebacks, never let Storm out of their sights as they battled back to a 47-44 lead.
However the biggest drama was still to come, when with just a minute left on the clock, Storm defender Alex Sinclair received her second caution in quick succession, and was sin-binned for two goals.
Despite this Storm still forced the turnover, which was converted by Rachel Dunnn to give them a 63-62 lead. The Surrey side managed to run down the clock to secure an unlikely win, and keep hold of top spot in the table.
Another nail-biting match took place in Bath on Friday night between Team Bath and Hertfordshire Mavericks. The third and fourth placed teams could not be separated as the final score ended 49-49, following a final-second missed shot from Bath’s Rosie Allison.
Second placed Manchester Thunder edged to a nervy, one goal victory over Yorkshire Jets, cementing their semi-final place, the final score ending 51-50 to Thunder.
In the other match in round 11, Loughborough Lightning continued their disappointing season as they fell to their 11th straight defeat, going down 68-40 to Team Northumbria. Lightning, who have failed to record a win all season, struggled both in attack and defence, as Northumbria picked up their fourth win.
Round 12 gets underway on 3rd April when Team Bath take on Yorkshire Jets, live on Sky Sports.
