FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup LIVE and Exclusive on British Eurosport

More great news for the increased coverage of women’s sport. This weekend the FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup kicks-off in Costa Rica and you can catch all the action via extensive live coverage in high definition on British Eurosport.

This will be the first FIFA women’s tournament to be held in Central America and will feature some of the world’s top nations.

Amongst the favourites this year include 2010 finalists Japan, the all-time top scorers in the tournament with 56 goals in 14 matches. North Korea, the only side to have reached the final on two occasions, will also be one to watch.

British Eurosport’s coverage begins with the Group A clash between Italy and Zambia on Saturday evening. Both of these nations are making their debut appearance in this tournament. British Eurosport’s commentary team for the tournament includes current England international Sue Smith. The midfielder, who plies her trade at Doncaster Rovers Belles, is one of the most capped female England players in history with 93 appearances to date.

Arsenal goalkeeper Emma Byrne will also be providing analysis during the tournament. Byrne recently equalled Ciara Grant’s appearance record of 105 caps for the Republic of Ireland.

Chelsea Ladies manager Emma Hayes and Jen O’Neill, editor of She Kicks magazine, completes the expert line-up.
