Modern Pentathlon: GB qualifies for final at World Cup

All four British women pentathletes will contest in the final, tomorrow Friday 28 February, of the opening World Cup of the year after progressing safely from yesterday’s heats in Acapulco, Mexico.

Freyja Prentice qualified comfortably from qualification group C after scoring 1,012 points to finish joint second alongside Lena Schoneborn, Germany’s 2008 Olympic champion.

She was joined by another young Scot, 19 year old Jo Muir, who qualified from the same heat in 12th place on 976 points.

Kate French and London 2012 Olympic silver medallist Samantha Murray also both qualified safely from heat B in ninth and tenth respectively.
