Biathlon: GB Team announced for Sochi 2014

Amanda Lightfoot has been named as Great Britain’s female biathlon entrant for the Sochi Winter Olympics that begins Friday 7 February.

The 26 year old will be making her debut and said she is “overwhelmed” to be only the second British female biathlete to compete at a Winter Games.

Lightfoot will be joined by Lee Jackson to make up the full GB biathlon team, and the two athletes will join those who have also been selected from curling, figure skating and short track, bringing the total Team GB size to 23.
