Badminton: Adcock and White win Hong Kong title

England’s Chris Adcock and Gabby White cemented a successful first year as a mixed doubles partnership by winning the Hong Kong Open in Kowloon.

The husband-and-wife team beat China’s Cheng Liu and Bao Yixin 21-14 24-22 to become only the second English pairing to win on the Superseries circuit.

“Wow! Can’t describe the feeling right now! One of my dreams finally accomplished!” Tweeted White afterwards. “It couldn’t have been done without all the support from the staff and everybody who has helped me along the way! Hopefully the first of many!”
