Here at Sportsister we’re massive fans of Rachel Atherton. A former cover star of our digi mag she features on the shortlist for our 2013 Sportswoman of the Year award.

This year, for the second time in her career, the downhill mountain biker finished the year as World Champion and World Cup series winner.

Coming from a hugely successful mountain biking family Rachel says she is motivated by one day racing faster than her brothers, proving that girl-power is alive and kicking in downhill mountain biking.
