Sportsister Awards nominee: Becky James

Another Welsh sporting star makes our list of nominees for Sportswoman of the Year, World Sprint Champion Becky James.

At only 21 Becky’s rise to the top of World Cycling has been meteoric. Following her bronze for Wales at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in the TT Track race, she has been unstoppable.

As part of British Cycling’s Olympic Podium Programme, this year Becky put the disappointment of missing out on London 2012 behind her and won her first World Title in the Sprint race. She collected four medals in total from the championships, including another gold in the Keirin.
