Hockey: GB suffer defeat to Germany in three-match series
Great Britain’s women’s hockey team suffered a 3-1 defeat in their second outing of a three-match series with Germany in Mannheim.
GB had won their opening match over the Germans, with Olympic bronze medallist Georgie Twigg, Susie Townsend and Steph Elliott all scoring for a 3-1 victory.
However the score reversed in the second match as Franzisca Hauke’s double and Eva Frank’s goal set up victory for Germany.
The two teams will meet once more to complete the series, before head coach Jason Lee heads to the World League Final in Argentina with England.
