Badminton: England’s Smith and White take on Scot in French Open

The Yonex French Open begins in Paris tomorrow, 22 October, and one of the big first-round contests brings together England’s Lauren Smith and Gabby White compete against Scotland’s Imogen Bankier and Bulgaria’s Petya Nedelcheva in the women’s doubles.

Heather Olver and Kate Robershaw are also in the women’s doubles event taking on Japan’s Yuriko Miki and Koharu Yonemoto in their first round

In the mixed doubles, Chris Adcock and White aim to build on their Denmark quarter-final when they meet German pair Peter Kaesbauer and Isabel Herttrich, and English National champions Chris Langridge and Olver take on Denmark’s Anders Kristiansen and Julie Houmann in their first round.
