Triathlon: Jodie Stimpson wins Alicante Triathlon World Cup

Great Britain’s Jodie Stimpson insists she couldn’t have wished for a better way to finish her season after winning the Alicante ITU Triathlon World Cup in Spain this weekend.
Stimpson, second overall in the ITU World Triathlon Series following the PruHealth World Triathlon Grand Final in London, produced a commanding performance to beat Italy’s Alice Betto and Rachel Klamer from the Netherlands.
“It’s brilliant to finish my ITU year with the win and having Lucy (Hall) and Natalie (Milne) there on the bike ensured it was a hard working group,” said the 24 year old.
“I just ran hard to finish and I’m chuffed with the win.”
