Kit review: Arc’teryx Detente hoody
When we find ourselves wearing an item of clothing time and time again we know we love it. I’ve had the Arc’teryx Detente hoody for just over two months, and it has quickly turned into one of my favourite sporting garments.

The hoody falls under Arc’Teryx’s latest rock climbing range, but if like myself, you’re not into this activity, it’s not a problem. The top is incredibly versatile and can be worn for a whole range of sports. It definitely gets a thumbs up from me!
Good Points
- The material is soft and extremely breathable making it very comfortable to wear. It is also very resilient - I have worn and washed the top numerous times and it retains its great shape.
- The style has great unique features and is a flattering fit.
- The versatility of the top is fantastic. I have worn it rowing, canoeing, running, walking and playing tennis, as well as an over garment to keep warm after exercise. It’s gorgeous style means I have also felt comfortable wearing it away from my sporting activities and teamed it up with jeans.
Bad Points
- It is a little pricey which may put people off, but for such high quality and versatility it is definitely worth the money.
- You have to remember to be careful when it comes to washing the hoody. Machine wash in only cold water and don’t use any fabric softener or a tumble dryer when drying.
