Basketball: GB Women’s wheelchair team reach semi-finals
The Standard Life GB Women secured a place in the semi-finals of the European Wheelchair Basketball Championships yesterday, 4 July, beating Spain 55-32.
Top Scorer, Helen Freeman (pictured) said, “It was great to grind out a win. We knew the Spanish were going to come out hard and I have a lot of respect for that team as they really fight for every basket so it was really great to come out on top in the end.
“I’m looking forward to taking on the Germans especially in front of their home crowd.”
England play their semi-final match this afternoon Friday 5 July, against Paralympic Champions Germany. Live streaming can be found here: www.hr-online.de/website/rubriken/sport
