Cricket: England beat Pakistan to take series 2-0
England 157-4 (38.0 overs) beat Pakistan 156-6 (50.0 overs) by six wickets.
England Captain Charlotte Edwards (pictured) was the top scorer yesterday on the Haslegrave Pitch at Loughborough, with 62, helping her side beat Pakistan by six wickets.
Edwards made her fourth successive half-century, hitting eight fours in her 62 from 71 balls.
Natalie Sciver and Arran Brindle took three wickets apiece limiting Pakistan to 156 for six and England comfortably knocked off the runs with 12 overs to spare for the loss of just four wickets.
Player of the match Sciver said afterwards, “It was really good to contribute to a team win today and another good team performance all-round.
“We were happy to bowl first as we thought it might do a bit in the morning here. For me personally it was great to get the ball in my hand and felt a little bit like a home game with me studying at Loughborough University.
“Arran and Charlotte played with good intent and we were confident we could chase down the target.
“We’re all now looking forward to the Twenty20 matches on Friday.”
England Women’s second win against Pakistan means they took the series 2-0, having beaten them by 111 runs in Lough earlier this week.
