Swimming: Jazmin Carlin smashes 800m PB at British Championships

Jazmin Carlin and Hannah Miley both recorded world-leading times in their finals on day two of the British Championships yesterday.
Carlin’s 800m freestyle time of eight minutes 18.56 seconds was nearly six seconds quicker than her previous personal best and secures her a place in the GB team for the World Championships next month.
“I honestly don’t know what to say - it’s kind of a surprise,” Carlin told BBC Sport. “To drop six seconds is normally unheard of at this age, but I’m over the moon.”
And Miley touched in with a time of 4:35.67 to win the 400m individual medley, claiming too, her position at the Championships in Barcelona.
Sophie Allen also qualified for the squad after winning the 100m breastroke with a time of 1:07.70.
