Cycling: Dame Sarah Storey named in Para-Cycling team

Dame Sarah Storey has been named in the Great Britain Para-Cycling team for the Road World Championships.
But the 11-time Paralympic gold medallist is due to give birth this month with the 2013 Championships starting soon after on 29 August in Quebec, Canada.
And Storey, who won world C5 Time Trial and Road Race gold in Denmark two years ago, will only take her place in the squad pending a performance test.
Great Britain has until 7 August to submit their final team.
Storey wrote on her Twitter page, “Performance test for me is to check my comeback after baby arrives. I don’t want to travel unless I can win!”
London 2012 medallist Lora Turnham, who won gold in both the road race and time trial at the World Cup in Segovia earlier this year, along with her pilot Corinne Hall will also be part of the team.
British Cycling Para-Cycling performance manager Gareth Sheppard said, “The Para-Cycling Road World Championships are the season’s target for our road-focused athletes.
“The first year of the Paralympic cycle provides a benchmark to see how the riders can perform against world-class competition.”
