Basketball: GB Women through to second round of EuroBasket

Great Britain beat Latvia 69-56 yesterday to reach the second round of the EuroBasket 2013.

Having beaten Serbia in their opening game, The Standard Life GB team are already through before today’s (Monday 17 June) meeting with hosts France.

“We set out a goal to make the second round.” said coach Damian Jennings.

“To do it in the first two games makes life a little easier in the third game.”

And player Kim Butler said, ”This was a great victory for us. Being 2-0 in our second European Championship, it means a lot to Great Britain and we are very proud.”
